Tübingen institute has corona test without false positive results

According to its own information, the NMI Institute at the University of Tübingen has developed a corona antibody test that does not produce any false positive results. In addition to a specificity of 100 percent, the test called “Multicov-AB” also has a sensitivity of 90 percent, the institute said. This means that antibodies could be detected in 90 percent of the PCR-positive test subjects.

The validation was published on Friday in the journal Nature Communications. The NMI Natural Science and Medical Institute at the University of Tübingen is a non-university research institution. The antibody test was developed in cooperation with the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research in Braunschweig.
