The release date of Back 4 Blood (from 69,98€ at pre-order) has been postponed. The cooperative zombie shooter will no longer appear on June 22, 2021, but will only be released on October 12, 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PS5, PS4 and PC (Steam and Epic Store). The developers need even more time, it says in a short statement.

Back 4 Blood features a cooperative story campaign for four players in which the Cleaners battle the Ridden and work together to survive increasingly difficult missions. The players can form teams online (drop-in / drop-out co-op) to fight the Ridden threat together – or alternatively tackle the campaign with three computer-controlled AI teammates. The game also offers a competitive multiplayer mode, whose participants can compete in online PvP – with up to eight players – with or against friends. The teams alternate in their roles as cleaners and ridden.
The spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead should offer more missions, more characters and a larger selection of zombie variations compared to the classic. The story should also play a bigger role. The “Game Director” as a dynamic event and opponent system also promises more variety in the cooperative forays. The game is created at Turtle Rock Studios, which worked on Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Evolve and some VR projects such as Face Your Fears or Journey of the Gods. You can find a longer “Gameplay Showcase” on YouTube.
