News about Diablo 4 and Co: BlizzCon 2021 starts today

BlizzCon 2021 opens its doors today at 8:00 p.m. late in the evening Central European Time. As part of the 3-day event from publisher Activision Blizzard, we are allowed to receive extensive information Diablo 4, Overwatch 2 and Co. hope.

Due to the pandemic, this time the event will take place as a largely digital online event BlizzConline. If you are interested in these games, Beyond Pixels is exactly the right place for you. In the following post, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about BlizzCon 2021 in advance.

Starting position & expectations

In the last few years, Activision Blizzard has lost a lot of its former good image. Regardless of whether that is the messed up announcement of the mobile phone game Diablo Immortal was that caused a lot of resentment among many die-hard Blizzard fans – who are mainly on the PC. In terms of the political backbone, they made a blatant faux pas in 2019 when a well-known Chinese streamer was banned for publicizing his personal opinion on the Chinese government and the situation in Hong Kong.

At the beginning of last year, we were able to see for ourselves about the rather half-hearted attempts by Blizzard to continue to supply its loyal fan base with high-quality games. The so-called Warcraft III: Reforged Not only met with comparatively little approval from us. You can find our review here.

And yet: if the current numbers are to be believed, Activision Blizzards Games will be financially successful in 2020 as never before. Because of this initial situation, BlizzConline 2021 will be a very interesting event. What news will there be about already established titles? Will we possibly hear a specific release date for Overwatch 2? Or maybe there will be another disaster a lá this year Diablo Immortal to mourn? We are excited.
