Sony is now also giving away games for all PlayStation 4 & 5 owners

After the Epic Games Store was able to convince many gamers to install the shop software with its free games series, Sony is now taking a similar path to further expand its own user base. If you currently have a PlayStation 4 or 5, you can secure the platformer Ratchet & Clank free of charge until March 31, 2021. With “Play at Home” the Japanese are giving away a title to all console owners (PS 4 & 5) every month until June 2021. A Playstation Plus subscription is not required for this. It is not yet known which games will be published for free in the future.

With the free release of Ratchet & Clank, Sony is also beating the drum for the upcoming sequel to the series. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart should be available June 10, 2021. This title can currently be pre-ordered. All information can be found here.

Currently, the poor availability of the next-gen console from Sony continues. Due to the lack of components, this does not seem to change in the coming months either. However, according to its own information, the company has already sold over 4.5 million consoles. Nevertheless, various pre-orders are still waiting for their PS5 today. It remains to be seen whether this will have a negative impact on game sales. There are no reliable figures on the current active PS5 gamers on the platform.
