Fürth defeated Kiel 2-1 at the end of the 22nd round
The promotion race in the second German soccer division is becoming more and more a real thriller. After Greuther Fürth’s 2-1 home win against Holstein Kiel on Monday evening after the 22nd round, four teams are tied at the top of the table on points. Due to the best goal difference, Hamburger SV is just ahead of Fürth, who advanced from fourth to two, as well as VfL Bochum and Kiel in pole position.
After Joshua Mees (4th) scored an early goal in Kiel, ex-Salzburg striker Haavard Nielsen equalized (27th). The gold goal was then an own goal by Alexander Mühling (83rd).
