Plane crashes in Lake Constance – pilot survives almost uninjured – Switzerland –

On Thursday, shortly after 11.30 a.m., the St. Gallen canton police received the report of a missing aircraft over Lake Constance approaching Altenrhein Airport. The aircraft was found in front of Staad SG in Lake Constance and the pilot was rescued.

According to initial findings, the small plane, which was only manned by the pilot, crashed into Lake Constance for reasons unknown until now. The pilot was found by the rescue workers. He was available when he was found and was brought to the hospital by the ambulance service. The circumstances that led to the crash are unknown.

In addition to several patrols and special functions of the St.Gallen canton police, the international sea rescue services, Rega and local fire departments were in action.
